I have been selling on since 1996. is a great venue to market your items to the world.
I do however believe that there are many limitations marketing strictly on.
Here are some of the reasons I feel there is a need for a local & regional venue to market your items:
1) Yard sales, garage sales, estate sale & household sales require a lot of time and effort and are usually limited to one or two days of selling. Due to many items being low in price it is not worth marketing them on given the & shipping fees involved.
2) Many larger items are very expensive to ship and need to be properly packaged for freight delivery.
3) Classified ads get lost on a black and white page with very little text and no photos. The price is fixed with no chance of increasing and it can be costly to place the ad.
4) To have a local auctioneer sell your items can be costly. You are also at the mercy of the weather and calendar as to how well the auction would be attended.
